Blue Mistflower

Those skippers are back at it again, this time on another plant with confusing names. My sources agree it’s a Mistflower or Wild Ageratum, but this time the scientific names disagree.

“Unheard of,” Miz Flora says.

But they did, or do. So if you want to search for this U.S. native that can be a bit weedy—it spreads readily—try Eupatorium coelestinum or Conclinium coelestinium.

The skippers like its weediness.
