One of Nature’s Mysteries to Solve

Did you guess dragonfly? Or that other one, damselfly? How do you tell?

This is a damselfly, a Familiar Bluet. The difference between dragonflies and damselflies is most obvious when they land. Dragonflies will sit with their wings out, while damselflies fold their wings over their bodies. They are far more regular about this habit than squirrels are with their tails.

As I told Nutmeg, Squirrels have more to think about than sitting positions. And now that the acorns are falling, we have no time to sit!
