Nutmeg and I have been in touch with our Field Correspondent in Colorado, Coney the Pine Squirrel. While he doesn’t have the time to send us a week of posts, he’s sending a few notes to update our readers on his situation in the flood disaster area of Jamestown, Colorado.
Coney writes: It’s been hard living here in the mountains. Many humans in my neighborhood have lost their homes. I lost one of my favorite spruce trees. The creek in our neighborhood undermined it along with human homes, bridges and roads. Moving for squirrels is easy, so I’m set up again, as are most wildlife; it will take longer for the humans.
