Just so you know Common Milkweed isn’t the only food in town for nectar feeders! Hickory and I ran past a stand of Purple Coneflowers and saw the bees going crazy over them.
Miz Flora says to remind you that the center of the flower is where the nectar is on coneflowers, and that the rings of tiny flowers bloom at different times. You can tell which are the open ones by the tinge of yellow pollen on them.
Unlike the Milkweed we showed earlier in the week, these flowers were planted along a parking lot. Thank you humans for bringing food to an otherwise barren area for wildlife!
