Hickory filled me in on the system here at The Squirrel Nutwork. Today is my easy first day, just presenting a wildlife statue for his regular column. My home, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on the Delmarva Peninsula, doesn’t have many statues, since there aren’t human homes out on the refuge, so I had to send into the town of Chincoteague for just the right depiction of our wildlife.
This pony is what most humans think of when they hear ‘Chincoteague’. And yes, we have wild ponies in our forests and on the beaches. But there are squirrels, too, and that’s what I’m going to talk to you about this week. So get your fill of ponies today.
