Q is for Quartz

Quartz, right. It’s a common rock found in Virginia, and some of our human neighbors have pieces of it in their yards.

Bet you thought it might be hard for us to come up with a nature item for Q for the Blogging A To Z Challenge. Well, I did have an alternative, but just like I wouldn’t let Hickory use Eastern Gray Squirrel for the alphabet days E, G, and S, he wouldn’t let me use an oak again. Their family group and genus name is Quercus, you know.
