What does this mean to us squirrels? It’s not a season change—which besides, they don’t flip in a day anyway. It’s not a big nature event, like an equinox or a solstice. We don’t quite get the whole human reliance—or is that honoring?—on or for the artificial calendar, but maybe I’m making too much of it. Time does move on.
For Hickory, Miz Flora, Ol’ Wally and I it was just another day in the suburbs hunting for acorns and enjoying the day. A nap may even be in order, if I make that a goal.
