Remember to stock your feeders early so the birds can find them before the harsh weather sets in.

Once it’s freezing out, birds cannot waste energy searching for food sources – they need to have them lined up already.

    • Oh, Nancy, thanks for asking. Sunflower chips are nice. We–er, the birds don’t have to open them. If you don’t mind a bit of a mess, the Black Oil Sunflower are a cheaper option (but you end up with the hulls spread around) Most songbirds eat these. With mixes they often kick out the the seeds they don’t like, leaving them wasted on the ground.
